Irene's 60th birthday The internet is a wonderful invention. Having signed up to GenesConnected, Cassie (granddaughter of Alfred Nicholson) was excited to discover a listing for Stanley Nicholson, born in Canning Town in 1922. After some eager exchanging of e-mails with Lorraine Gettings, Stanley's granddaughter, the link was established. Angela - daughter of Johnny Nicholson - was equally thrilled to hear of the new contact. She added that her cousin Irene - daughter of Minnie Nicholson - was due to celebrate her 60th birthday in March, and Irene would very much like to meet these new relatives. So off we went to Ramsgate, and a good time was had by all... The party included the descendants of Alfred, Stanley, Minnie and Johnny - and, of course, Johnny himself is still with us - in the blue shirt, in the centre of the group below, happy to be Big Daddy to us all!
